BEST CHOICE DRIVING SCHOOL Policy Letter Classroom Instruction – 30 hours 1. Students are expected to attend all classroom sessions and sign in each day. If the student is 15 minutes late, they will not be allowed in class. 2. If for any unexpected reason a student misses a class, that class will have to be made up before the student graduates from the class. If the student misses three or more classes without notifying the driving school, they will automatically be dropped from the course and forfeit their refund. 3. Any student who misses more than 12 hours of classroom instruction with a valid reason must re-start the course. Please notify the driving school immediately. 4. Classroom and behind the wheel instruction course must be completed within 18 weeks of the first day of class. If a student takes longer, then they will have to retake the course and repay the full tuition to restart the session. 5. The student must pass all unit tests and the final exam with a minimum of 80 percent. Unit tests will have to be retaken. Tests cannot be retaken on the same day. If a student does not achieve an 80% on the final exam after the second attempt, they will be charged a fee of $25.00 to retake the test. 6. Any student who comes to class or driving session in an intoxicated or drug induced condition, will be dropped from the course with no tuition refund and will not be permitted to enroll again. 7. Any student that is removed from class because of behavior problems or cheating will not be refunded any part of their paid tuition. The student will not be permitted to enroll again. 8. No smoking will be allowed within 100 feet of the driving school. 9. Any student caught vandalizing any of the materials or the building itself will be charged for the repairs and can be dropped from the course without a tuition refund. 10. Students are not allowed to do homework or read books other than those used by the instructor in the driver's education course. 11. Cell phones, Ipods/phones, PDAs or any other electronic instrument/device must be turned off during the classroom session. 12. Students are to bring notebook and pen/pencil. Parents should ensure students are on time and picked-up in a timely manner. 13. Food or chewing gum is not allowed in the classroom Snacks and Drinks are allowed. 14. No hats will be worn in the classroom. 15. No vulgar or inappropriate language is allowed. Behind the Wheel Instruction – 6 hours 1. All students will need a learner's permit prior to beginning behind the wheel (BTW) instruction. They must bring this permit to all BTW sessions or they will not be permitted to drive. Not having their permit will be treated as a no-show. No shows can be charged $80.00. Students will not be allowed to drive BTW until all their no-show fees are paid in full. 2. Students/parents/guardians/mentors are responsible for calling Best Choice Driving School to schedule BTW appointments. There are three BTW sessions. Each session is scheduled for two hours. 3. If a student is more than 15 minutes late for a BTW appointment, they will be charged a no-show fee. 4. A 24 hour notice must be given to the driving school for cancellation of a BTW appointment. Failure to do so will result in a $80.00 no-show fee. 5. Extra driving sessions will be provided for students that need extra instruction. The charge for an extra driving session will be $45.00 per session. 6. Once a student begins their behind the wheel instruction there will be no tuition refund. Tuition Payments/Refunds 1. Any balance due on a tuition fee must be paid in full prior to the last day of classroom instruction. 2. Returned checks will be charged a $25.00 administrative fee. The course and administrative fee must then be paid in cash before the student can resume classes. The issuance of a driver’s license is NOT guaranteed or assured as a result of this course. I agree to abide by the above conditions and guidelines. I realize that violations of this policy are grounds for dismissal from the course and tuition refund could be forfeited as a result.
